Welcome - Nel Licensing

Nel’s bright colours and uplifting work have gained her many fans worldwide. She has been nominated for Best Published Artist in the UK three times. Her studio is situated in beautiful North Yorkshire where she lives in a 200 year old stone house with her husband, the writer Mark Morris, and their two children.

Nel's style is an eclectic mix of the new and the old. There are fondly chosen pieces of contemporary ceramics mixed with heirlooms and treasured objects from her childhood, as her grandmother ran her own jewellery business in the famous jewellery quarter in Birmingham for many years and her aunt was in charge of restoration embroidery at Hampton Court Palace for over 22 years. It is a soulful, creative place to live with something interesting in every corner.

Her roots have given her a keen interest in textiles and design particularly. Nel is unusual as she is both a fine artist and a designer, and is happy to keep a foot in both camps.

Nel is delighted to announce that her brand has a new licensing agent for North America. As of January 2010 Julie Newman of Jewel Branding and Licensing now represents the Nel brand and both parties are really excited about the new opportunities this partnership will bring.

Her keen eye for design and a great love of life combined with the popularity of her paintings and poetry have led to the publication of her first four poetry books called . Each book with its own emotive theme have proved incredibly popular.

Despite the chilly economic climate existing partners are enjoying great success including Pimpernel who have launched their beautiful tablemats and mugs. Deva Design enjoyed a sell out of their Nel Christmas wrap and bag range. Flame Tree have also added to their stationery and card line. Sales of the gorgeous Maia tapestry kits have also been strong and follow on from the success of the stitch kits.

We are delighted to announce that we also have several NEW licensing partners that are now working with us including Wild Apple in the States, Enesco in the UK, Pictura in France, Atlas Wallcoverings in Belgium, Mondial Mix in Italy and Karto in Finland. Nel is best known for her vibrant florals and that is why three years ago she was invited to exhibit at the world famous Chelsea Flower Show in London, where she was thrilled to be treated to a special visit from HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall on the Royal Gala preview night, as she received a grant from the Princes Trust 22 years ago and they had never met!
The Duchess particularly liked ‘What a Treasure’. Nel painted her iconic painting ‘Most Loved’ which was auctioned in London and all proceeds were given back to the Princes Trust.

	Nel has appeared on TV several times including Richard and Judy’s Celebrity Art Club when she taught celebrities and members of the public to paint alongside each other. Harrods have also shown her work during the Art for Living show when the whole store was turned into an Art extravaganza!
